Alyssa + Theodore = Married!

Congratulations, Dr. and Mrs. Brown!!!  I am so happy for you two and I had a blast photographing your wedding.  What a beautiful wedding and gorgeous couple you two make.  I loved Alyssa and Ted's excitement and anticipation before the ceremony.  Their love for each other is apparent in all that they do for each other.  Also, I love that even with all they have going on, they always make it a point to make those around them feel welcome and loved. Since our initial meeting and photographing your engagement pictures, you two have been the sweetest people and I knew your wedding day would be magical.  You two have the biggest hearts and care so much about those around you.  We all couldn't be more happier for you and really enjoyed being a part of your gorgeous and super fun celebration.  I loved all the attention to detail, all the lavender purple accent colors and that you two worked together to get all the details taken care of for the wedding.  Alyssa, I loved your beautiful wedding dress and you could not have looked more stunning!  The ceremony was very emotional and such a beautiful service performed by Father Richard Doerr.  When it came to your reception, you two know how to throw a party and DJ Jason Fritz did a great job keeping the dance floor full all evening.  After all the planning, I am so glad you got to relax and have so much fun in South Beach, Miami on your honeymoon in the Delano Hotel!!  All of us around you are very happy for you both.

Below are a few of my favorites from their gorgeous wedding day and a little more about their love story . . .
Ted and Alyssa first met in the summer of 2005 at the Team Indiana Olympic Training Center Swim Camp in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Ted was entering his sophomore year at the University of Notre Dame and Alyssa was heading into her junior year at Carmel High School. They were only acquaintances at the time, but Alyssa has one distinct memory of Teddy from their swim camp. In between swim practices, Alyssa's roommates and she were talking to friends when a group of swimmers, including Teddy, walked by their room.  He and two other swim boys came into their room and were showing off their very stylish nasal breath strips on their noses! Alyssa remembers thinking this was hilarious and took a picture of Teddy sporting his nasal strip and posing in a Charlie’s Angels position! That photo has been in her swimming photo album all of these years, and she still has it to this day.
Little did they know, Ted and Alyssa would meet up again in Indianapolis, Indiana six years later. Ted was finishing his final year at Indiana University School of Medicine, and Alyssa was living in Carmel, Indiana teaching kindergarten after recently graduating from Indiana University. Ted’s 26th birthday was coming up, and he invited Alyssa to celebrate with him and his friends. They hadn’t seen each other in years, but she remembered his sweet, genuine personality. The instant that Ted and Alyssa saw each other on his birthday, there were sparks in the air! Alyssa remembers Ted telling her that it was his best birthday, and by the end of the night, Alyssa knew Ted was the man that she wanted to marry. From that day on, they were inseparable.
August 20, 2011 marks the best day of Alyssa's life (before the wedding) because it was the day that Ted proposed to her in Indianapolis. Ted did an INCREDIBLE job planning the proposal surprise.  They were on their way to Indianapolis for a fun day downtown! Ted made the whole day a surprise. Alyssa had no idea where they would be staying or what they would be doing!   First, they arrived at the JW Marriott (the place where Ted and Alyssa had first said "I love you" to one another). The hotel knew that Ted would be proposing later that night, but Alyssa had no idea!  They found out that the hotel had surprised them both by upgrading their room to the presidential suite!  Alyssa just thought they were extremely lucky and Ted just played it off.  First, Ted took Alyssa to the Indianapolis Art Museum's Gardens and Alyssa said "It was so romantic!"  While there, they both decided to each throw a penny in the water fountain. Later, Ted and Alyssa shared what they had wished and Alyssa wished that Ted would propose to her, and Ted wished that she would say YES when he proposed!!  After watching a sweet movie in their hotel room, they were ready to go out for dinner at Osteria Pronto, an amazing Italian restaurant at the JW Marriott. The meal was delicious and they had so much fun! At the end of the meal, the waitress asked them if they would like a tour of the restaurant. She took them to the restaurant's private wine room where Ted had prepared a slideshow with pictures of their relationship.  Before Alyssa knew it, Ted was down on one knee to propose to her! It was magical. To top it all off, their families poured into the room to celebrate with them too! It was a complete surprise and, up until the wedding day, it was the best day of Alyssa's life!
Alyssa and Ted now live together in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where Ted is a pathology resident physician at the University of Michigan Health System, and Alyssa is a substitute teacher for Ann Arbor public schools.  Some of their favorite date nights consist of going out to eat in downtown Ann Arbor, Michigan. Alyssa and Teddy love trying out new restaurants! Some of their favorite restaurants in Ann Arbor are Jolly Pumpkin and The Pizza House.  Both restaurants have delicious pizza and fun drinks! They also love hanging out at home with wine and a good movie. Taco nights at home are always fun, too!  As long as they are together, they always have a blast...Alyssa never thought going to the grocery store could be so much fun! :)
They are so excited to finally be with each other every day, and they feel so blessed knowing that they get to spend the rest of their lives together!  They were counting down the days until their wedding day on July 7, 2012, and we couldn't wait to share their special day with all of their friends and family!  They were so excited and couldn't be happier to now be married.  They feel so blessed for all of the amazing and loving people around them.  It was an absolutely magical and beautiful day for them and they were surrounded by so many people that love them.  Here are a few of my favorites from their amazing wedding day . . .
