Caley + Adam = Married!

Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Holmes!!!  Your wedding day was beautiful and so much fun.  Thank you so much, Caley and Adam, for allowing me to be a part of your celebration.  I loved your gorgeous wedding locations!!  You couldn't ask for a more beautiful location for your wedding pictures than your church and Dulls Tree Farm!  What a super fun and gorgeous day.  I photographed Caley's cousin's wedding (Samantha and Devin) in February this year, so I definitely loved getting to catch up with everyone.  Caley and Adam, you two definitely have a great love for each other and have a lot of fun with everyone around you.  I loved those pictures when you two's personalities really came out.  I loved all your personal touches from the lanterns for your bridesmaids, games on your reception tables, etc.  What fun with the super fun slide at Dulls Tree Farm too.  I am so happy for you and know that you two will enjoy married life!!  Below are a few wedding highlights to hold you over.  Enjoy your honeymoon in Michigan!!

Below are a few of my favorite photos from their wedding day and a little more about their love story . . .

Caley and Adam actually met online via eHarmony. Adam lived in Michigan and Caley lived here in Indiana. They emailed each other for about 3 weeks to a month. Then on May first they met for the first time. Sam and Devin came along cause Caley was afraid of meeting someone she met on the internet. So they met at the Children's Museum then walked around the Canal downtown.
When it came to Caley knowing she had found "the one," it took her until about January when she knew Adam was the guy God had brought into her life to marry.  She always thought she could see herself marrying him or someone similar to him. But January was when she really knew for sure that Adam was the one for her. Caley doesn't know what it was, she just knew.
Probably Caley and Adam's favorite "date nights" are making a dinner together and then walking around together through parks.  Adam likes to cook and Caley doesn't mind helping.  Hee hee!  They also really like going to new and different parks and walk around them and especially loved all the beautiful parks in Michigan.  Their favorite dinner out is anywhere they get to eat steak.  So one of their favorites is going to Texas Road house to get steak.
When it came to the wedding proposal, Caley doesn't remember the exact date but thinks it was around March 24th. That day they were out looking to get stuff for Caley's new job with Elbert Construction. So all day they looked around for places to get a ladder and a ladder rack. Then that day, Sam and Devin were asking them when they all wanted to go see a movie together. Either that night or the next night. Caley asked Adam and he said to do the movie tomorrow. So Caley and Adam decided to go walk around Eagle Creek park in between ladder shopping. They walked around the park and then went to go shop some more.  They didn't get home until around 9:00 pm that night and sat on the couch for a few minutes. Then Adam suggested they go to the park he had been mentioning all day going to that night. So Caley thought something might be up, because they were both tired and usually was when they sat on the couch to relax.  So Caley was pretty sure something was up then.  Anyways they got in the car and headed to the park. They were coming from a different direction so and they could remember the address of this park for the GPS. So we drove around for like 30 min trying to find it before finally arriving.  They walked around the park in pitch blackness and then he wanted to go down to the lake to skip rocks. So they got down there to try to find rocks to skip. They were all big rocks so they weren't very successful especially because they couldn't see anything in the dark. They stood there for a minute. He gave Caley a hug and said, "You make me very happy" and Caley replied, "You make me very happy too." Then Adam said he had a question for me and got down on one knee to ask if Caley would marry him. Caley laughed when he got down on one knee and when he asked she, of course, said yes. Adam was a little nervous and tried to put the ring on my right hand, then he tried to put the ring on my middle finger on my left hand and finally got it right the third time. lol
Shortly after the official engagement, they started planning their wedding day!  Caley chose the church because she had been visiting that church with her aunt and uncle. Plus Adam was still in Michigan so they didn't really have a church. Caley chose the barn at Dulls Tree Farm because it was such a gorgeous and fun location.  The couple that own it were really nice and the location is just beautiful.  They knew they had great wedding locations.   During the wedding planning process, Caley has realized she hasn't really had a favorite part of the planning.  She said, "To be honest nothing really. I never thought I would ever get married, so I had no idea what I wanted besides I knew I wanted to incorporate the color teal. I don't really get into the wedding planning thing. I am just trying to make it simple and easy. I guess my favorite part was planning what to have on the tables. I am excited we are putting board games and card games on every table. If no one wants to dance they can play a game."
Caley was most looking forward to the reception at the barn and hoped everyone would have a good time. Also, she was looking forward for when Adam sees her in the dress for the first time. He thinks Caley is going to be in a plain dress and the dress she picked was not plain at all. Almost everything about that dress is opposite of what she told people she wanted. My cousin, Michelle, talked me into trying that dress off because it was different. She tried on the Belle dress made by Alfred Angelo's in their Disney princess collection and she just fell in love with it.  So fun and Caley definitely looked gorgeous and all the wedding details came together!
