2013 Tenth Annual Pink Tie Ball!

I am so honored to say that I photographed The Susan G.Komen for the Cure Central Indiana Affiliate's 10th Annual Pink Tie Ball on Saturday!  It was an absolutely amazing and extremely moving event at the Scottish Rite Cathedral and I was privileged to be a part of it all, especially as they celebrated their tenth anniversary.  The emcees, Scott Swan and Anne Marie Tiernon, emmy award-winning journalists from WTHR, did an amazing job.   They definitely are fun, professional and passionate for this amazing cause!   Well-deserved awards were delivered to amazing people.  Dr. Kim Wagler Ziner received the Individual Lifetime Achievement Award and Zeta Tau Alpha’s accepted the Corporate 2013 Lifetime Achievement Award.  Peter Dunn (better known as Pete the Planner, featured regularly on WIBC and other endeavors) shared an extremely impactful video from a stage 4 breast cancer survivor and encouraged guests to share their support.  Karen Saturday, wife to Jeff Saturday, spoke from her heart when she shared her tremendously emotional stories with her personal experiences and those around her that have been impacted by breast cancer.

The Komen Central Indiana Affiliate launched their new awareness campaign at the event called the “Pink Tie Guys.” The initiative involved ten notable men with Indy TIES (and by Ties, they mean connections), supporting the Komen Mission to save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for all and energizing science to find a cure.  Pink ties were handed out to the Pink Tie Guys that were able to be there:  Mr. Vince Early, Mr. Gene Huddleson, Mr. Tom Miltner, Mr. Bob Moeder, John Papageorge, Scott Swan, Amadou Yattassaye and Jeff Saturday.  After receiving his Pink Tie, Jeff Saturday tossed the coin with the help of Pete the Planner, Anne and Scott, while many of the guests played a super fun “heads or tails” game with the hopes of winning the gorgeous earrings provided by Distinctive Diamonds.  Then the Komen tradition continued when Breast Cancer Survivors were first onto the dance floor with the very special song, “I Will Survive” as they danced and then paraded up near the stage as they were handed white roses and a special swag bag.

I was extremely honored and loved working around so many amazing vendor friends . . . Thomas Caterers of Distinction (2013 Diamond Sponsor), Detail+Design(2013 Ruby Sponsor), Scottish Rite Cathedral, Evans AudioVisual, Jim Cerone Wedding Entertainment Director, A Classic Party Rental, Happy Snaps Photo Booth, and the event’s awesome Pink Tie Ball committee (among many others that I am sure I forgetting!)  What an amazing event to be a part of and I loved every minute!  Thank you to the Komen Central Indiana Affiliate for allowing me to photograph the 2013 Pink Tie Ball.  There was lots of money was raised for their amazing cause, everyone had a blast and each one of us definitely left inspired to find a cure!  Here are just a few photography highlights from this spectacular event . . .
