Alexis + Dustin = Married! | Indianapolis, IN

Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Harrison! Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your absolutely amazing wedding day this weekend!  I just love these two and their families and friends!!!! They have so much love for everyone around them.  I couldn't be happier for you two and I am extremely honored to be a part of your engagement and wedding photography! With the engagement session, the amazing Canal 337 photo shoot and talking along the way, I really got to know these two.  It was an absolutely spectacular and breath-taking wedding with personal touches, amazing details and elegance throughout the day.  I couldn't be more happy for you and I feel extremely honored that I was able to capture your love story!

Their Love Story ...
  • How or where did you two first meet? Dustin:  "I winked at Alexis on match.com, and we started talking.  The first time I met her was at a cross country meet (I was coaching), and when a few of my athletes saw her leaving, they chased her down to talk to her!" Alexis:  "We talked for about a month on Match, and then decided to meet in person after realizing we had a good number of friends in common. We were both at Purdue at the same time, Dustin and his friends knew my roommates, but we never met! His athletes did run after me as I was leaving the first time we met, and said, 'Dustin is a really good guy. He likes you!' It was so cute, like something out of a movie."

  • When did you two realize you had found "the one?" Dustin:  "I think I knew that Alexis was the one when she left for the Dominican Republic during Christmas 2013.  I was so sad that I couldn't spend Christmas with her.  I thought I was hiding it well around my family, but they said I was sulking around the whole time!" Alexis"I don't think there was a specific moment, rather a bunch of little ones. Little things he did, the fact that we have almost everything in common, and just laughing and being able to be silly with him is what made me fall in love with him."

  • What is one of your favorite "date nights" consist of?  "We love to play video games together, especially Far Cry.  We also love to watch some Judge Judy every day after work.  We love going to Eagle Creek to throw the football around and walk the trails and the canal downtown is fun to walk around. When we go out, we like to cut loose and dance! Our date nights usually involve going to see funny movies, going to Applebees (her favorite restaurant if you don't count McDonald's) or going to fun concerts.  One thing we have in common is our obsession for ketchup.  For the first several months of our relationship, we had a streak going where we used so much ketchup when we went out to eat that we always had to ask for a second bottle.  I should also note that on a recent road trip, Alexis actually brought a bottle of ketchup in case we stopped at a drive through and didn't get enough ketchup packets!"

  • How did the wedding proposal happen? Dustin:  "I proposed to Alexis on New Year's Eve at midnight with fireworks at Universal Studios in Orlando, FL." Alexis: "I was so surprised! He told me later he'd had it in his pocket all night... while we were getting ready, taking pics, etc. but I never saw it and had no idea! BEST SURPRISE EVER!"

  • How or why did you choose the wedding locations you did? "The ceremony venue was a little bit of a struggle, but we found Tabernacle Presbyterian, which is where I used to play sports growing up. The reception space at D’Amore was so easy because as soon as you walk off the elevator, you're looking at the entire city. The view is amazing!"

  • What has been your favorite part of the wedding planning process so far? Dustin: "Planning the honeymoon and tasting the food!" Alexis: "Planning the entire thing has been so much fun. There have been some stressful moments, but the sweet isn’t as sweet without the sour!"

  • What are you looking forward to on the wedding day? Dustin:  "Seeing Alexis for the first time in her beautiful wedding dress and being able to officially call her 'my wife.'" Alexis:  "I'm looking forward to everything! Definitely want to see if Dustin cries! I can't wait to celebrate with everyone we love! The pictures, the memories, the dancing, the love... and then our happily ever after!"
I love them and couldn't be more excited for them. What a wonderful team to be a part of for this wedding . . . we love the happiness you two find in each other and seeing everything come together on your beautiful wedding day. I can't wait to see all that you accomplish as a couple. I know you will have so much fun and enjoy married life!!

  1. A beautiful place to get married. I went to my friend's wedding here this past weekend. The DC wedding venues are beautiful, one of the nicest locations for a wedding I've ever been. The ceremony was very nice and felt very intimate.
