Your wedding is
one of the most special nights of your life, filled with several
sentimental moments that you will want to remember forever. Your
ceremony features many of these moments especially that feature the
bride with their dad. In some cases, they have an uncle, brother, etc.
as well. From walking down the aisle to your groom, to your first
dance, those special moments with the bride and her dad are special
moments that you will remember forever. Not
only is it special to you, but all your wedding guests as well. Your
father-daughter song should be something that symbolizes the
relationship between you and your dad. It is hard to go wrong with
picking a song, however,
Here are a few tips on how to pick your father daughter dance song . . .
1. A song that has special meaning to you!
Perhaps you have a song that means a lot to your family, or more specifically, a song that means a lot to your dad and you.
2. A song that reflects your personalities!
Don’t feel like
you have to slow dance. If the song that best reflects you is country,
rock n’ roll or pop, do it! Learn some dance moves and have a
choreographed dance, or just be energetic and fun! Getting laughs with a
fun dance can be just as memorable as a song choice that tugs at your
guests' heart strings when you slow dance.
3. Songs about dads!
If you’re
having a hard time choosing just one song that is special to you, look
at the context and lyrics of a few different ones. See if any of them
have parts about dads or a father-daughter relationship.
4. Songs about growing up!
Songs about
growing up or moving on to the next stage of life can symbolize or
describe this special time in your life as you are growing up and not
always going to be daddy's little girl.
Ultimately the
final decision on what song to choose is between you and your dad, so
make it what you want it to be . . . fun or sentimental, but something
that represents you two!

My
dad and I danced to a song by Journey, because he has always loved
Steve Perry and the band and my sister's and I have always associated
our love of classic rock to his love of music he passed on to us.
Although it wasn't a more popular song by Journey that everyone might
know, it represented him in every way! Here's my amazing dad this year on Father's Day!
Here is two years ago
at our favorite place to vacation in Michigan with Owen,
Gracie, Ava and Luke. Love you, Dad!!
Thanks to my dad and all father's out there! XXOO, Kristin
